It’s that time of year again, time for the Florida Kids and Family Expo. For any families that live in Central Florida, this is a must-do event! The event is August 17th and August 18th, 2019. (If you miss this one, just mark your calendar for next year.)
The Florida Kids and Family Expo was created by two moms back in 2014. They wanted to help other Central Florida families connect with providers of services, products and more.
This year the Florida Kids and Family Expo has over 150 exhibitors and is filled with plenty of Florida Family Fun! The best part, it is all indoors as it is held at the Orange County Convention Center.
The entry fee is $6 a person if you purchase in advance. Otherwise, the tickets are $15 at the door. You also will need to pay for parking. Parking at the Convention Center is offered at a discounted rate of $10 for the day.
You have a whole day of entertainment and you can nab some sweet deals that you can’t normally get anywhere else. Last year I took advantage of special ticket offers to a couple of the different local attractions.
There are plenty of activities for the kids and even adults. A few of the activities we participated in last year included a round of laser tag, private golf lessons, learning how to play the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, and walking through the petting zoo.
They have four stages this year where there will be live performances throughout the day. A schedule of these performances is provided to you when you enter in the Expo guide. Last year we had the opportunity to watch a Medieval Times demonstration, a professional wrestling match, and an aerial performance.
All of that fun didn’t even include the fun we had visiting exhibitor booths where we learned about schools, organizations, services, and products available to our family. We also collected plenty of samples and some great coupons that we could use throughout Central Florida! One exhibitor booth even had a snake and baby alligator you could pet and take a photo op with.
Most of this fun is included with the price of admission but there are a few extras that are available for an additional cost if you need to up the fun. These include bounce houses, pony rides, face painting, and train rides. Last year we had so much fun with everything that was included, the kids didn’t even ask for any of the extras.
Tips for your visit to the Expo
- Wear comfortable shoes. This is at the Convention Center and you will be walking around so comfy shoes are a must.
- Bring a stroller if you have young children. This goes along with number one, there is a lot of walking so a stroller is super helpful for your little ones.
- Pack a snack and drinks. There are samples of food but if you spend all day here, you will need to eat. There is food for purchase available through CenterPlate Catering Karts. These karts are not associated with the expo but are provided throughout the convention center.
- Plan to spend the day. There is a lot to do and see. You really can make a day out of it.
- Purchase tickets in advance. There is a service fee of 1.32 through Eventbrite but you still save a couple of bucks per person.
- To find out more or purchase your tickets online you can visit the My Central Florida Family website here.
The most important tip – Plan to have fun. Hope to see you there!
